The comment makes Obi-Wan smile, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he does, and he takes a sip of his tea as he nods. "I imagine this is how it's meant to feel," he says. "And that, under different circumstances, you and I both would have found it in our former lives."

He hopes he doesn't sound dismissive, because that isn't how he means it at all. Dave and Satine are both incredibly important people and neither will ever be forgotten, but it's no secret that he and Klaus had to be very careful with how they loved those wonderfully special people. They were never allowed something like this. Perhaps they could have had it, had their worlds been different.

"I like it, too," he says, still smiling. "Very much so."
