Harley and Klaus are alike in a lot of ways, including how people might have a hard time taking them seriously at first glance, but Klaus knows better. He knows that Harley is far more than how she presents herself to the world, so he doesn't doubt that she's a good listener, or that she wants to help him. He doesn't doubt that she cares about him, and maybe that's what he needs most right now.
"It's a very complicated story," Klaus sighs out as she sits next to him, letting his eyes fall closed at that soft press of her lips. "Involving time travel and torture and war."
His head hips over onto her shoulder and he looks down at the helmet, eyes welling up again as he splays his palm over the top of it. His voice is low and slurred and rough from crying, and he winces a little at the sound of it. "But the short version is that I loved someone very much, more than I had ever loved anyone, and I watched him die. Three years ago today, give or take all the time travel and coming here."
