There is absolutely no indication on Obi-Wan's face that says that he's disappointed in Klaus's reaction, or that he's expecting to hear it said in return, and that's also so fucking sweet. Obi-Wan is too good for him, so much better than he deserves, and Klaus sort of wants to cry because so was Dave, who was the first person that Klaus ever really loved. Dave's death left a wound that will never fully heal, and Klaus told himself that he would never do that again. He would never put himself in the position to lose someone that important ever again.

But here he is, staring at a beautiful man who loves him and expects nothing in return, and Klaus knows that trying to deny how he feels would be laughable. Because of course he loves Obi-Wan. Of course he does.

They start walking and when Obi-Wan holds out his hand, Klaus's heart sort of flips over in his chest, and a small, self-loathing part of himself wants to push Obi-Wan away, because he's so good. How can he not see that he deserves so much better?

Instead, he reaches out to take Obi-Wan's hand, because yes, there is a small part of himself that thinks this is a bad idea, that he isn't good enough, or that he might be opening himself up to having his heart torn in two again, and he doesn't know if he can survive it, but there's a much bigger part, the louder part, who loves Obi-Wan very much and just wants to be happy.

Their fingers thread together as they walk, and Klaus is so lost in his own thoughts that he just lets Obi-Wan lead him. By the time that he actually takes in their surroundings, he can see the taco truck up the street.

"Will you stay over tonight?" Klaus asks, squeezing Obi-Wan's hand as he looks over at him hopefully, obviously overwhelmed but wanting desperately not to part ways. "Please?"
