"Well, this year one Jedi will," Klaus assures him, sliding his hands around to the small of Obi's back and giving him a warm smile. He can imagine Obi-Wan standing along the edges of a wild crowd in his robes, straight-backed and confident. Unattainably handsome.
But he also knows what Obi-Wan looks like when he laughs, when he's loose from liquor and arousal. Klaus knows that being a Jedi is something of infinite importance to Obi-Wan, and he respects that. But he also knows that Obi-Wan deserves to let loose and have some fun. He can do both of these things.
"Mm, I don't know about that," Klaus says with a laugh, kissing the tip of Obi-Wan's nose, and then the corner of his mouth. "Maybe I just haven't kissed the right person at midnight yet."
